A large number of Iranians opponents of Iran’s regime staged a rally in Munich on Sunday, February 17, to protest the presence of the regime’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the 55th MSC conference held in Germany.
The MSC (Munich Security Conference or Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz) is a conference on international security policy held annually in German city of Munich in Bavaria since 1963.
Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK), rallied outside the global security summit, and while holding banners and flags stated that the Iranian regime is the number one state sponsor of terrorism including a number of recent terror plots in Europe, the U.S. and elsewhere. The regime is also the cause of regional instability.
They chanted slogans calling for expulsion of the regime’s foreign minister and other diplomat-terrorists form Germany and the conference. They chanted, “Zarif is a terrorist”, “Kick Javad Zarif out” and “No to appeasement; Yes to Resistance.”

In 2018, at least six Iranian diplomats including a sitting Ambassador were arrested or expelled from Europe for several terror plots targeting primarily the Iranian opposition PMOI/MEK.
In June, an Iranian diplomat, identified as Assadollah Assadi, was arrested in Germany for personally handing over a highly explosive device to two Iranian terrorists who targeted the MEK at the Free Iran annual gathering held by Iranian opposition in Paris in which a thousands of Iranians as well as a large number of international prominent personalities including lawmakers and current and former government officials, and members of parliament including MEPs attended. The Iranian opposition (NCRI’s) President-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi was the keynote speaker at the Free Iran gathering in Paris.
The detained diplomat-terrorist Assadollah Assadi is currently in a Belgian jail cell awaiting prosecution over the terrorist plot.
The protesters in Munich called on the EU Member States in particular to shut down the Iranian regime’s embassies in Europe and expel the agents of the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) and IRGC’s terrorist Quds Force. They urged the EU and US to blacklist the entirety of the MOIS and Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) as terrorist entities.
“As a member of the Supreme National Security Council (the regime’s highest authority deciding on major terrorist activities), Zarif is directly involved in terrorism. He bears key responsibility for the regime’s crimes by whitewashing acts of terror,” the demonstrators pointed out.
Addressing the regime’s Parliament last November, Zarif said he and Hassan Rouhani’s government take their orders directly from Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
“We are not a system in which people can act on their own … We cannot do anything in this country without having to report it. … It is not true that we acted against the will of the Supreme Leader,” Zarif said. (State television, November 5, 2018)
During a visit to Beirut on January 13, 2014, Zarif placed a wreath on the tomb of terrorist Hezbollah military commander Imad Mughniyeh, prompting condemnation from the U.S. National Security Council.
The PMOI/MEK supporters urged the Munich Security Conference to hold the regime officials accountable for their crimes including act of international terror.
They called on the international community to recognize the Iranian people’s inalienable right to resist and overthrow the dictatorial regime of the mullahs ruling Iran.
While holding portraits of the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi, the protesters expressed their desire for a free and democratic Iran by chanting slogans and holding signs that read, “Democracy Freedom with Maryam Rajavi.”
