Speech of Senator (ret’d) David Smith – October 22 – Toronto
Brothers and sisters I have come here to say I am with you. Your cause is based on principles I mean I read that ten point plan of Madam Rajavi numerous times that I think it is important who wants a genuine free elections for a democratic government in Iran and you are not giving up until it happens.
In the community and some of you may have hear me mention this before , you know my father in his time, he always had several friends he always referred to as Persian community, an ancient civilized group based on principle, they were fine people and I had friends in the community all my life and I want to see a government in operation over there that base its existence on a genuine democratic and free society that respects human rights. And so don’t give up and I hope I live to see, you know I flew over there quite a few times. I was flying to India for many years for ICI bank and I flew over there and I looked down and I was by the Caspian but I was Baku and I had Caviar and I hope some day I have it in Iran with some of you. Thank you.
