{"id":9826,"date":"2018-04-25T11:13:04","date_gmt":"2018-04-25T15:13:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.irandemocratic.org\/public_html\/news\/?p=9826"},"modified":"2018-04-25T11:13:04","modified_gmt":"2018-04-25T15:13:04","slug":"iran-head-of-judiciary-supports-beating-of-a-young-woman-by-security-forces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.irandemocratic.org\/public_html\/news\/9826\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran: Head of Judiciary Supports Beating of a Young Woman by Security Forces"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While the beating of a young woman by Iran regime&#8217;s so-called \u201cGuidance Patrol\u201d has caused people\u2019s outrage, the head of the regime&#8217;s judiciary says police \u201cmust not retreat a single step\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>According to the state-run IRNA news agency, on Monday April 23, Sadeq Larijani, head of the judiciary, said: \u201cWe should not allow any person to resist the legal actions of law enforcement or insult an agent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecurity forces must not step back a single step at all&#8230; because then all hell breaks loose, and the road to the law enforcement&#8217;s authority and action to secure the country will be closed,\u201d Larijani emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cIf some people were to confront the police force and thus try to polarize the community in order to make a cultural debate appear a political or social discussion, this is not acceptable at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The release of the video of beating of a young girl by the agents of \u201cguidance patrol\u201d has led to people\u2019s anger and a wave of massive protests.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MKjPxJ06_4g?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In this regard, on Friday, Ahmed Alam-ol Hoda, Friday prayer leader in Mashhad, quibbled about the people who protested the beating of the girl and ridiculously said, \u201cMinister and lawyer [an innuendo to outsiders who are not related to the girl or the issue] walk into the streets protesting that a mal-veiled woman was insulted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Fars news agency affiliated to the Revolutionary Guard Corps and the state-run Kayhan daily have called this case irrational and also described it as \u201cplanned\u201d and \u201cdummy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Sadeq Larijani described Iran regime&#8217;s interference in Iraq and Syria as &#8220;preserving the country&#8217;s authority&#8221; and warned on Monday:\u00a0\u201cNo one should question the presence of Iranian forces in Syria and Iraq!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The head of the judiciary added: &#8220;When the system concludes that in order to preserve the authority of the country&#8230; our (military) advisers should continue their presence in Syria and Iraq, no one else should question this policy but everyone should be sympathetic altogether to defend and support it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iran&#8217;s involvement in Syria and the support of Bashar al-Assad have led to widespread protests in Iran, in addition to international condemnations.<\/p>\n<p>During last January\u2019s protests and uprising in Iran in more than 100 cities, protesters chanted slogans such as \u201clet go Syria, think of us\u201d.
