The Supreme Leader of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Thursday that the United States is, \u201cin the real sense of the word,\u201d the number one enemy of the\u00a0Islamic Republic.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Breitbart News Network<\/a> <\/strong>Nov. 02, 2017<\/span>: <\/strong><\/span>\u201cThe US is, in the real sense of the word, the main evil enemy,\u201d Khamenei said while speaking to a group of Iranian students\u00a0ahead of the November 4 ceremonies marking the \u201cNational Day of Fight against Global Arrogance,\u201d according to\u00a0Iran\u2019s state-run Press TV<\/a>. \u201cThis reality stems from true understanding of issues and the facts on the ground, not from prejudice and pessimism,\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n

President Trump\u00a0has repeatedly called the Iran nuclear agreement (or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), which was embraced by former President Barack Obama, \u201cthe worst deal ever negotiated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you witnessed recently, the head of US administration said the Iranian nation is a \u2018terrorist nation,’\u201d Khamenei reportedly said,<\/span> referring back to President Donald Trump authorizing<\/a> the Treasury Department to list Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) \u2014 known as\u00a0Sepah-e Pasdaran-e Enqelab-e Eslami<\/em>\u00a0in Persian \u2014 as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou see how foolish this attitude is? He calls a nation terrorist. He does not say the leader is terrorist; he does not say the government is terrorist; he says the Iranian nation is terrorist,\u201d Khamenei said.<\/p>\n

Breitbart News previously reported<\/a>, \u201cShortly after Khamenei\u2019s remarks, Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed<\/a> Iranians \u2018are all IRGC.\u2019 However, many Iranians \u2013 both living in the Islamic Republic and throughout the world \u2013 disagreed and rejected Zarif\u2019s claim, creating the #WeRejectIRGC hashtag on Twitter in response.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIs it not hostility?\u201d Khamenei reportedly asked the students. \u201cThis foolish comment indicates that not only are the Americans the enemies of the Iranian leadership and government, they also show hostility and enmity towards the very existence of a nation that stands against them tirelessly.\u201d<\/p>\n
