The Media Express, December 22, 2016<\/strong> – Shahin Gobadi, spokesman of the main Iranian opposition movement, the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK), exposing new details on the Iranian regime\u2019s involvement in occupying the city of Aleppo, Syria.
\nGobadi provided details on the number of Iranian forces in Aleppo, identified their commander and the operational command headquarters.\u00a0 He said Iranian Revolutionary Guards and mercenary militias were implicated in the most atrocious war crimes and crimes against humanity in the 21st century in Aleppo.
\nFox News has obtained information stating that Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fighters are currrently in control of ground operations in Aleppo. This would confirm previous reports stating that Iran was in charge of a broad Shi\u2019ite militia comprised of Lebanese Hezbollah fighters, Iraqi militias, and other Shi\u2019ite soldiers from throughout the Middle East.
\nIran has also sent countless Afghan migrants as mercenary ground soldiers to fight anonymously on behalf of the Assad regime.
\nOn Tuesday, government ministers from Russia, Turkey and Iran met to discuss the future of Syria now that Aleppo has been definitively retaken by Assad\u2019s forces. According to a Turkish official, the countries held the meeting to \u201cunderstand the views of all three sides, laying out where we all stand and discuss where we go from here.\u201d
\nThe meeting made explicit Iran\u2019s role in the conflict, which has not received the same level of attention as Russia\u2019s sustained air bombing campaign, which began in September.
\nIran\u2019s military aid to Assad may constitute the vast majority of ground forces in Aleppo today.
\nAccording to detailed information obtained by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Tehran has established a military headquarters facility 20 miles southeast of Aleppo from which it creates and enacts military plans for the Syrian conflict.
\nThe reports stated that Javad Ghafari, commander of the Quds Force (the foreign component of the IRGC), has been enacting the plans of IRGC chief Qassem Soleimani, who has been at the head of all Iranian involvement in the Syrian conflict.
\nThe two men recently met with Assad, cementing the already-firm ties between the three.
\n\u201cThis report leaves no doubt that the Iranian regime is the primary obstacle to any solution in Syria,\u201d Shahin Gobadi, said in a statement with FoxNews.com.
\n\u201cThe current situation in Aleppo and the role of the Iranian regime in the atrocities committed on the ground require the immediate expulsion of the IRGC and its mercenaries from Syria. By meddling in other countries the mullahs try to cover up their vulnerability at home. The survival of the [Iranian] regime has been intertwined with maintaining the Assad dictatorship in power in Syria.\u201d
\nAdditional reports have suggested that the Quds Force have also organized an umbrella group to control several Iraqi militias fighting in Syria.
