The\u00a0<\/span>People\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Mojahedin<\/span>\u00a0Organization of Iran\u00a0<\/span>(PMOI, Mujahedin-e\u00a0<\/span>Khalq<\/span>\u00a0or MEK<\/span>)<\/span><\/a>\u00a0announced on Wednesday that\u00a0<\/span>COVID<\/span>-19<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has\u00a0<\/span>so far\u00a0<\/span>taken\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>lives of\u00a0<\/span>over 78,800<\/span><\/a>\u00a0people in Iran<\/span>. The rising death toll in Iran\u00a0<\/span>is mostly because of the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>initial\u00a0<\/span>cover-up of this crisis.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When the virus started, the Iranian regime, as usual started a deception campaign. The regime\u2019s officials denied the existence of virus in Iran, while dozens were\u00a0<\/span>infected or had lost their lives.\u00a0<\/span>The m<\/span>ullahs were about to hold their sham parliamentary elections<\/span>. They were dreaming of having a large turnout\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>this so-called election to somehow legitimize their rule<\/span>, particularly after killing over 1500 people during the nationwide Iran protests, shooting down\u00a0<\/span>a Ukrainian passenger jet<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>losing<\/span>\u00a0their\u00a0<\/span>top terror<\/span>\u00a0mastermind\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>increasing\u00a0<\/span>international isolation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>the regime\u2019s deception a sign of its strength? Indeed, not. The regime\u2019s handling of\u00a0<\/span>shooting down the Ukrainian passenger jet confirms this.\u00a0<\/span>When t<\/span>he Revolutionary Guards downed the airliner, all the regime\u2019s top officials were immediately informed. But fearing<\/span>\u00a0that<\/span>\u00a0announcing this<\/span>\u00a0action w<\/span>ould\u00a0<\/span>bring them more international isolation and might\u00a0<\/span>trigger new rounds of protests<\/span>, the regime\u2019s officials\u00a0<\/span>denied shooting down the airline for three consecutive day<\/span>s<\/span>. Their fear, however, was well-founded. When the regime\u2019s officials\u00a0<\/span>acknowledged they had downed the airliner in January, Iranians across Iran poured on<\/span>to the<\/span>\u00a0streets and soon targeted the regime\u2019s top officials\u00a0<\/span>in their slogans. The regime had to arrests hundreds and attack peaceful protesters to prevent this uprising from spreading and continuing.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now the regime fears to<\/span>\u00a0tell the truth about the novel coronavirus and the extent of this\u00a0<\/span>crisis because<\/span>\u00a0this will certainly\u00a0<\/span>result<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>new series of protests.\u00a0<\/span>The regime<\/span>\u00a0also fears more international pressure, therefore\u00a0<\/span>it\u00a0<\/span>desperately tries to hide it<\/span>s nuclear activities to<\/span>\u00a0secretly obtain a nuclear bomb and prolong its life.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, it is important that the international community side with the risen people of Iran and their organized resistance movement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>NCRI<\/span><\/a>\u00a0virtually held\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>Free Iran Global Summit<\/span><\/a>,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>connecting 30,000 locations in over 100 countries. This event which was attended by renowned politicians from different countries manifested a\u00a0<\/span>strong international\u00a0<\/span>coalition\u00a0<\/span>against the regime and in support of the Iranian people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the participants of this event was former Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Below is the full text of Mr. Stephen Harper\u2019s speech.<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

All<\/span>\u00a0governments and people may be united in the fight against coronavirus, but in Iran, the regime and the virus\u00a0<\/span>are<\/span>\u00a0united against the people. We will never know the real number of coronavirus infections and deaths in the mullahs\u2019 regime. But what we do know is that no country was so quickly overwhelmed by the cases and so unable to genuinely help its people. And it was unable because it is unwilling. The regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>priorities<\/span>\u00a0remain not the health and welfare of its citizens but the spread of its ideological hatred, the backing of its regional terror network, and of course the furthering of its apocalyptic nuclear program. What greater proof can there be of the regime\u2019s evil and\u00a0<\/span>unreformable<\/span>\u00a0nature than its fanatical adherence to nuclear weapons ambitions during a pandemic devastating its population. But\u00a0<\/span>that\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0what has happened.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ayatollah\u2019s regime\u00a0<\/span>has breached almost all of its commitments under the\u00a0<\/span>JCPOA<\/span><\/a>\u00a0nuclear deal, continue to accumulate low enriched uranium, continuing its work on nuclear missile delivery systems, and continuing to keep its\u00a0<\/span>nuclear<\/span>\u00a0facilities operating and continuing to refuse to grant access to inspectors, no doubt to cover up the true scale of its deception.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But deception is no substitute for strength. And the regime is not strong; it is weakened. Today its allies from Lebanon to\u00a0<\/span>Syria<\/span>\u00a0and Iraq and Yemen and Gaza are experiencing enormous economic pain and popular unrest. And of course, with the economic situation\u00a0<\/span>deteriorating<\/span>\u00a0at home, corruption rampant with explosions and fires widely reported, street protests continue to break out in Iran itself. They do so despite the real risk of death for the\u00a0<\/span>protestors<\/span>\u00a0and despite the disinformation campaigns that the regime wages against its opponents, including most frequently against this\u00a0<\/span>organization<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Still, the\u00a0<\/span>regime has<\/span>\u00a0never looked weaker than at the very moments when it has tried to show strength. Yes, it was able to<\/span>\u00a0shoot down a defenseless commercial airliner, killing 63 of my fellow Canadian citizens and many others in the process. But its attempt to hit back at those who can defend themselves, at America and Israeli and Saudi assets, those have been brushed away like annoying insects<\/span>, w<\/span>ith its supposedly all-<\/span>powerful<\/span>\u00a0terror leader Soleimani eliminated in the blink of an eye. The regime is ready to fall and the regime is ready to be replaced.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This organization, the\u00a0<\/span>National Council of\u00a0<\/span>Resistance<\/span>\u00a0of Iran<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has adopted a\u00a0<\/span>10-point plan<\/span><\/a>\u00a0including democracy and free elections, pluralism and human rights, justice and the rule of law, peaceful coexistence and gender equality, private property and a market economy, the separation of\u00a0<\/span>religion<\/span>\u00a0and state, and of course, a non-nuclear Iran. Friends,\u00a0<\/span>I\u2019ve<\/span>\u00a0never claimed to be able to tell the Iranian people who their government should be, only that it is the Iranian people themselves who\u00a0<\/span>have<\/span>\u00a0the right to\u00a0<\/span>choose<\/span>\u00a0it. But surely this 10-point plan is what all people of good faith wish to see in a reformed and reborn Iranian nation. So, I say stand with\u00a0<\/span>Maryam\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and with all those people and\u00a0<\/span>organizations<\/span>\u00a0around the world who seek a free, democratic, and peaceful future for Iran and its people. Friends, continue your struggle, keep hope alive, and prepare\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0the new Iran that will come to pass through your efforts. And thank you for allowing me to be part once again of this great event. Good health and blessings to all of you. Hazer, hazer, hazer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
