While the world knows of the Iranian regime\u2019s\u00a0Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a>\u00a0role in terrorism, oppression,\u00a0corruption,\u00a0and smuggling, the IRGC\u2019s Navy commander now threatens dhow\u00a0owners in southwestern Iran.<\/p>\n

The IRGC and other regime officials are systematically plundering\u00a0the\u00a0national wealth for terrorism and\u00a0adventurism.\u00a0IRGC<\/a>\u00a0proxy groups such as Hezbollah are controlling a vast network of\u00a0drug smuggling in South America. Yet,\u00a0to\u00a0show an \u201canti-corrupting\u201d facade, they are bragging about fighting smugglers.<\/p>\n

IRGC\u00a0Brigadier General Alireza\u00a0Tangsiri, commander of the regime\u2019s IRGC navy,\u00a0on Tuesday\u00a0warned\u00a0that if the smuggling of goods\u00a0does\u00a0not stop, the\u00a0IRGC<\/a>\u00a0would set fire to the dhows carrying the goods at sea.\u00a0This news was reported by the state-run\u00a0Jahan News<\/a>\u00a0website\u00a0on the same day.<\/p>\n

Alireza\u00a0Tangsiri\u00a0continued: \u201cSmuggling of goods has\u00a0resulted in\u00a0the outflow of currency from the country, unemployment and\u00a0is a major\u00a0blow to the country\u2019s economic system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tangsiri\u00a0did not say who are the main perpetrators of the smuggling of goods in the country.<\/p>\n

M<\/span>ost of the dhows seized by the Iranian regime\u2019s navy are ships used by the natives of the southern provinces of Iran, such as\u00a0<\/span>Hormozgan<\/span>\u00a0and Bushehr, to transport goods from the United Arab Emirates, especially Dubai, to Iran.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years, there have always been reports of arson in the southern Iranian ports, especially in Bushehr.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On June 7, 2019, the\u00a0<\/span>Tasnim<\/span>\u00a0news agency, owned by the\u00a0<\/a><\/span>IRGC\u2019s terrorist\u00a0<\/span>Quds\u00a0<\/span>F<\/span>orce, reported that\u00a0<\/span>five dhows<\/span><\/a>\u00a0had caught fire in Bushehr.\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>he fires were likely to\u00a0<\/span>have\u00a0<\/span>be<\/span>en<\/span>\u00a0intentional.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The primary goods smuggled into Iran by the owners of Iranian dhows in the south of the country are consumer and electrical goods, which are mainly sold in the southern provinces due to the<\/span>ir small portion.<\/span>\u00a0Those who sell and import these goods are making their lives\u00a0<\/span>through this procedure.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On May 8, the Economic Commission of the Iranian regime\u2019s parliament announced that more than 95 percent of smuggled goods to Iran are imported\u00a0<\/span>after going through the so-called<\/span>\u00a0\u201cofficial procedures\u201d and \u201cofficial principles.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>This report was wired by the\u00a0<\/span>state-run website\u00a0<\/span>Mashreq New<\/span>s<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So,\u00a0<\/span>what th<\/span>e IRGC Navy commander\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>threat<\/span>\u00a0to Iranian dhow owners<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>mean<\/span>?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the past three decades, there have been numerous reports of unauthorized piers in the Persian Gulf and the import of smuggled goods by the IRGC<\/span>. In\u00a0<\/span>addition<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>major smuggling<\/span>\u00a0shipments have been under t<\/span>he IRGC<\/span>\u00a0supervision<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0Unlike other countries where smuggling\u00a0<\/span>is not related to any government or military institution<\/span>s<\/span>, in Iran the IRGC has monopolized smuggling and illegal export and import of goods.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During their infightings<\/span>, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former president of the regime<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0in July 2011<\/span>\u00a0accused the IRGC of playing a serious role in smuggling goods, saying: \u201cBetween 55 and 60 billion cigarettes are consumed in Iran. It is equivalent to 2 t<\/span>rillion<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>tomans<\/span>. This figure makes all world-class smugglers greedy, let alone our\u00a0<\/span>\u2018<\/span>smuggl<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0brothers<\/span>\u2019<\/span>,\u201d referring to the IRGC<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his controversial speech, Ahmadinejad also called on the country\u2019s various forces and\u00a0<\/span>departments\u00a0<\/span>to import their security, intelligence, and defense goods across the legal border<\/span>s<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After Ahmadinejad\u2019s remarks, Mohammad Ali Jafari, then commander of the\u00a0<\/span>IRGC<\/span><\/a>, attacked Ahmadinejad, calling him a stakeholder in smuggling, calling his remarks \u201cdeviant talk.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>It\u00a0<\/span>does not<\/span>\u00a0happen, and\u00a0<\/span>it\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0a matter of deviant talk. People who raise these issues are interested, and by raising such issues, they are trying to divert the attention of the government and other agencies from where the main smuggling of goods takes place<\/span>,<\/span>\u201c<\/span>\u00a0Jafari said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The IRGC has about 80 illegal docks on Iran\u2019s shores and claims to import security and defense goods from these docks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But the bigger reality is that in all economic spheres in Iran, both natural resources and massive constructions, or illegal fields such as fuel and goods\u00a0<\/span>smuggling<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to neighboring countries,\u00a0<\/span>the IRGC<\/span><\/a>\u00a0have always played a significant\u00a0<\/span>role<\/span>. Billions of dollars of\u00a0<\/span>these\u00a0<\/span>revenue<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>are<\/span>\u00a0sent to the accounts of the\u00a0<\/span>corrupt and terrorist commanders<\/span><\/a>\u00a0of the IRGC without\u00a0<\/span>going through any financial\u00a0<\/span>audit and tax collection.\u00a0<\/span>While Iranian society has to endure a<\/span>\u00a0dire economic situation and<\/span>\u00a0more than 60\u00a0<\/span>million\u00a0<\/span>Iranians\u00a0<\/span>liv<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0below the\u00a0<\/span>poverty<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>line, news continue<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>circulate\u00a0<\/span>about<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>IRGC<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>opening<\/span>\u00a0deadly<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>fire on\u00a0<\/span>porters (<\/span>Koolbaran<\/span>)<\/span>\u00a0in Iran\u2019s western province of Kurdistan<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Baluchistan\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0fuel porters\u00a0<\/span>and confiscated their goods\u00a0<\/span>under the pretext of countering smuggling.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Even now, the\u00a0<\/span>real chief of<\/span>\u00a0pirates and terrorists of the\u00a0IRGC<\/a>\u00a0is threatening to set Iranian dhows\u00a0<\/span>ablaze\u00a0<\/span>in the Persian Gulf because they do not tolerate even a small amount of the transfer of goods by anyone other than the corrupt mafia of the IRGC.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
