Earlier this morning,\u00a0<\/span>Amir Ali\u00a0<\/span>Hajizadeh<\/span>, commander of the\u00a0<\/span>IRGC\u2019s Aerospace Force,\u00a0<\/span>(one of the five IRGC branches),\u00a0<\/span>reluctantly\u00a0admitted the downing of the Ukrainian airliner by the IRGC.<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0“When I was informed, I immediately informed the authorities on Wed<\/span>nesday morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

I was in the west of the country and immediately came to Tehran. I called the authorities on the way and told them what has happened. I told them that there is a high probability that we have struck our own aircraft. I repeat again, as I wa<\/span>s informed in the first hour, I informed the authorities.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This\u00a0<\/span>makes it abundantly clear<\/span>\u00a0that Khamenei and Rouhani were aware of the downing of the aircraft by the IRGC from the very first hours. But\u00a0<\/span>after<\/span>\u00a0a\u00a0<\/span>72<\/span>–<\/span>hour<\/span>\u00a0delay<\/span>, and\u00a0<\/span>following<\/span>\u00a0extensive domestic and\u00a0<\/span>international\u00a0<\/span>pressure<\/span>, they outrageously claimed that they\u00a0<\/span>had been\u00a0<\/span>informed today or yesterday. This shows that the regime’s leaders are continuing their lies and\u00a0<\/span>concealment<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, Ali\u00a0<\/span>Rabi’i<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Rouhani<\/span>\u2019s Spokesman<\/span>\u00a0and a former deputy\u00a0<\/span>Intelligence Minister<\/span>, Ali\u00a0<\/span>Abedzadeh<\/span>, head of the Civil Aviation Organization,\u00a0<\/span>H<\/span>e<\/span>ssam<\/span>uddin<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Ashna<\/span>, a\u00a0<\/span>former deputy<\/span>\u00a0Intelligence\u00a0<\/span>Minister\u00a0<\/span>and Rouhani’s political adviser, and Mohammad\u00a0<\/span>Islami<\/span>, the regime’s Minister of Road and Urban Development, categ<\/span>orically denied the downing of the Ukrainian plane and dismissed it as a technical failure.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ali\u00a0<\/span>Rabie<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0described the\u00a0<\/span>reports on firing on<\/span>\u00a0the plane as a psychological operation by the US government. “No missile has hit the plane … if any object would have hit it,<\/span>\u00a0there would have been an explosion\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>n the air and the pieces should have\u00a0<\/span>scattere<\/span>d in wider area,” said Ali\u00a0<\/span>Abedzadeh<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Hesamuddin<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Ashna<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>brazenly\u00a0<\/span>warned\u00a0<\/span>reporters to “refrain from participating in\u00a0<\/span>psychological warfare over the Ukrainian plane and<\/span>\u00a0stop cooperating with those who are fighting with Iran.” Mohammed\u00a0<\/span>Islami<\/span>\u00a0emphasized: “R<\/span>umors that … the plane was sh<\/span>ot … is not correct and the technical problem was the cause of the accident”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs.\u00a0Maryam Rajavi,<\/a><\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>resident-elect of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0National Council of\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Re<\/span>sistance<\/span>\u00a0of Iran (NCRI)<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>emphasiz<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0that the<\/span>\u00a0ruling<\/span>\u00a0religious fascism continues to\u00a0<\/span>engage in deception and concealment<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>about the Ukrainian aircraft<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0called on the international community to intervene to\u00a0<\/span>uncover<\/span>\u00a0the details of this\u00a0<\/span>horrific<\/span>\u00a0crime and bring the perpetrators to justice. She said tho<\/span>se responsible\u00a0<\/span>we<\/span>re no<\/span>ne<\/span>\u00a0other tha<\/span>n Khamenei as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,<\/span>\u00a0Rouhani\u00a0<\/span>and the IRGC commanders. The same people\u00a0<\/span>are responsible for the massacre of more than 1,500 youths and protesters in November<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>wo months\u00a0<\/span>after\u00a0<\/span>the uprising, they continue to\u00a0<\/span>refuse\u00a0<\/span>giving\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0actual death toll of the martyrs, the wounded and those arrested.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
