United States officials have \u201chigh confidence\u201d that\u00a0<\/span>an\u00a0<\/span>Iran<\/span>ian<\/span>\u00a0regime antiaircraft missile brought down a\u00a0<\/span>Ukrainian<\/span>\u00a0passenger\u00a0<\/span>jet<\/span>\u00a0near Tehran, resulting in\u00a0<\/span>176 death<\/span>s<\/span>.<\/span>The Washington Post, quoted an anonymous\u00a0<\/span>o<\/span>fficial\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0s<\/span>aying<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cU.S. authorities believe the plane was hit by a SA-15 surface-to-air missile, a Russian-made system is also known as a Tor air-defense system.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This attack happened on the same day\u00a0<\/span>as\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s so-called \u201cretaliation\u201d against the U.S. for killing\u00a0Qassem Solei<\/a><\/span>mani<\/a>, head of the regime\u2019s\u00a0Islamic Revolutionary Guards\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Corps\u00a0<\/span><\/a>(IRGC)<\/a>\u00a0Quds Force<\/a><\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0o<\/span>n January 3 in an airstrike in Iraq.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Washington Post<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201cUkrainian investigators said they were considering the possibility that an antiaircraft missile brought down a Kyiv-bound passenger jet.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian regime has declined to cooperate with investigat<\/span>ors<\/span>, which\u00a0<\/span>is indicative of its\u00a0<\/span>involvement in this incident. The regime has so far refused to hand over the b<\/span>lack box of the crashed\u00a0<\/span>Ukrainian<\/span>\u00a0airliner to Boeing, the airplane manufacturer.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ukraine\u2019s embassy in Iran dropped an initial reference to engine failure as the cause of the airplane crash<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs.\u00a0Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the president-elect of\u00a0the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>, offered her condolences to the families and survivors of the airplane crash.<\/span><\/p>\n

Referring to the regime\u2019s failed attempt\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>retaliation and bogus claims of victory in launching missile<\/span>s on<\/span>\u00a0two U.S. bases<\/span>\u00a0in Iraq<\/span>\u00a0and the<\/span>\u00a0harsh words<\/span>\u00a0of the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0against the Albanian government for hosting the\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin Khalq or MEK)<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Mrs. Rajavi said<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>Ali Khamenei cannot confront the U.S. but finds an open hand in targeting and firing at the people of Iran on the ground and in air.
