Death of the Commander of the IRGC Terrorist Quds Force<\/h1>\n

On January 03,\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Soleimani<\/a>\u00a0the notorious commander of\u00a0the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a>\u00a0terrorist Quds Force, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis<\/span>, the head of Iraq’s suppressive\u00a0<\/span>Bassij<\/span>\u00a0was killed by the US military strike in Iraq.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs.\u00a0Maryam\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Rajavi<\/span><\/a>, the President-elect of\u00a0the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>, described the elimination of\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani and Abu Mehdi\u00a0<\/span>Muhandes<\/span>\u00a0as an “irreparable blow to the clerical regime.”\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs.\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi<\/span>\u00a0emphasized that “The time had come to evict the mullahs from the region, especially from Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, and expel the IRGC from these countries. In this way, Iraq, which had been delivered by the United States to the clerical regime on a silver platter, will be liberated from the yoke of the religious fascism ruling Iran.”\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani was one of the most vicious criminals in Iran’s history. He was personally involved in the massacre of hundreds of thousands of people in the region and in driving millions of others from their homes. He was also the mastermind of the massacre of\u00a0the Mujahedin-e\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Khalq<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(PMOI\/MEK)<\/a>\u00a0in Camp Ashraf in Iraq, and of many other terrorist operations against the Iranian Resistance in that country, in Iran, and in other countries. With his elimination, the process of overthrowing the mullahs will be greatly expedited,” read the statement of the NCRI’s president-elect.<\/span><\/p>\n

The U.S. government blacklisted Soleimani for his active role in the spread of terrorism across the globe.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Soleimani, dubbed as the “Shadow Commander,” was the regime’s highest-ranking General second-in-command after the regime’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. Below is a brief background of this criminal.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani joins the Revolutionary Guards in Kerman\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Soleimani joined the Revolutionary Guards in 1979 after the 1979 revolution. Furthermore, he played an active role in the suppression of the Kurdish minority.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

QASSEM\u00a0SOLEIMANI IN THE IRAN-IRAQ WAR<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

After the Iran-Iraq War,\u00a0<\/span>Suleimani<\/span>\u00a0trained several battalions of the\u00a0IRGC\u00a0<\/a>in the southern city of Kerman and dispatched them to the southern front. Shortly he was sent to the city of\u00a0<\/span>Susangerd<\/span>\u00a0as commander of a company. At the beginning of the war,\u00a0<\/span>Suleimani<\/span>\u00a0commanded one of the brigades of the 41st Division of Kerman. During the war, he was promoted and became commander of the 41 Mechanized Division of the so-called Thar-Allah brigade.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Qassem\u00a0Soleimani and the monopoly of production and distribution of drugs<\/p>\n

Following the regime’s cease-fire with Iraq, the IRGC seized a monopoly on drug trafficking under the pretext of “Fighting drug traffickers” to finance its overseas operations. Until his appointment as the head of IRGC the Quds Force in 1997,\u00a0<\/span>Ghassem<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Suleimani<\/span>\u00a0was responsible for the production and distribution of narcotics from Afghanistan to countries in the region and Africa, Europe, and the United States.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

QASSEM\u00a0SOLEIMANI’S APPOINTMENT AS HEAD OF THE QUDS FORCE\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

In mid-1998, Khamenei appointed\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani as commander of the\u00a0Quds Force<\/a>. From that date until his death,\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani was the source and the force behind all the chaos and humanitarian crises and terrorism in the Middle East countries and other Asian countries in Africa, America, and Europe.\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani was Khamenei’s top commander and directly received his orders from him. He was Khamenei’s adviser in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in the Supreme Council of the Security Council, Soleimani had the last word on regime’s interference in the affairs of countries in the Middle East. In affairs, Soleimani was personally involved in promoting the regime’s political influence and terrorist activities in Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dexter\u00a0<\/span>Filkins<\/span>, a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist, wrote a detailed report on\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani on September 30, 2013, entitled “Shadow Commander.”\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/span>Suleimani<\/span>\u00a0took command of the Quds Force fifteen years ago, and in that time he has sought to reshape the Middle East in Iran’s favor, working as a power broker and as a military force: assassinating rivals, arming allies, and, for most of a decade, directing a network of militant groups that killed hundreds of Americans in Iraq. The U.S. Department of the Treasury has sanctioned Soleimani for his role in supporting the Assad regime, and for abetting terrorism,” read the report.<\/span><\/p>\n

JAVAD<\/span><\/b>\u00a0ZARIF: SOLEIMANI\u2019S CLOSE FRIEND<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Javad<\/span>\u00a0Zarif, the Iranian regime\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, a close friend of\u00a0<\/span>Qassem<\/span>\u00a0Soleimani said \u201cThe US\u2019s act of international terrorism, targeting & assassinating General Soleimani- the most effective force fighting\u00a0<\/span>Daesh\u202f Al<\/span>\u00a0Qaeda et al- is extremely dangerous & a foolish escalation. The US bears responsibility for all consequences of its rogue adventurism.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While Soleimani was hated by the Iranian people, he was supported by all factions within the regime, including\u00a0<\/span>Javad<\/span>\u00a0Zarif, the regime\u2019s foreign minister. On several occasions, Zarif had praised Soleimani.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zarif once said \u201cCommander Soleimani and I never felt we have any differences. We have been working together closely for over 20 years\u2026During the U.S. attack on Iraq, as Iran\u2019s representative in New York, I \u2026 had the greatest coordination with commander Soleimani. Subsequently, when I became minister, the two of us decided to make sure we meet at least once a week when we were both in Tehran to review the latest developments and undertake the necessary coordination.\u201d (state-run daily\u00a0<\/span>Entekhab<\/span>\u00a0on September 1, 2019)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On November 5, 2018, Zarif had also said, \u201cWe are not a system that operates on its own\u2026 How can we do anything in this country without reporting it? It is not as though we have sought to do anything contrary to the wishes of His Eminence the Leader.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CONCLUSION\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Now, after the death of Soleimani and as the prospects for the ruling theocracy’s overthrow is within rea<\/span>ch, as Mrs.\u00a0<\/span>Rajavi<\/span>\u00a0has stated, “It is time for the regime’s armed forces to refrain from firing on the Iranian people, lay down their weapons and surrender. The armed forces’ patriotic personnel must join the people of Iran.”\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The international community, especially the European Union, must end the policy of appeasement and recognize the right of the Iranian people to resist and rise for freedom to replace popular sovereignty in place of the mullahs’ rule.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
