In a letter<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday, the Comit\u00e9 fran\u00e7ais pour un Iran d\u00e9mocratique (CFID or FCDI) welcomed the recent decision by the U.S. administration to\u00a0blacklist<\/a>\u00a0Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a>\u00a0and called on the European Union to designate the IRGC and Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) as\u00a0Foreign Terrorist Organizations<\/a>\u00a0(FTO<\/a>). The Statement emphasizes that Iran’s IRGC and MOIS are the sources of numerous foiled terrorist plots on European soil.<\/p>\n

This naturally unprecedented decision would be in line with the April 6 statement of the G7 Council of Foreign Ministers expressing grave concerns over the mullahs\u2019 destabilizing activities across the Middle East, especially in countries such as Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria.<\/p>\n

\"\"The French Committee for a Democratic Iran (FCDI)\u00a0reiterates that the threat of nuclear proliferation has never been so imminent and places all responsibilities on the shoulders of Iranian authorities. The FCDI also reiterates the major threat of war flaring across the Middle East, resulting directly from the Iranian regime\u2019s terrorism and destructive activities.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Tehran’s malevolent behavior is not limited to the meddling in other countries affairs and terrorist activities abroad. The Mullahs sacrifice the Iranian people\u2019s most basic necessities in order to provide for the heavy expenses of expanding their nuclear apparatus including missile development and testing and fueling their destructive foreign adventurism. This regime is oppressing the Iranian people\u2019s needs and is deaf to the freedom-loving younger generation\u2019s legitimate demands. Despite all this, the regime\u2019s entire crackdown apparatus has never been able to overcome the Iranian people\u2019s courage and bright perspective.<\/p>\n

The FCDI calls on all free and democratic nations to support the Iranian opposition movement, symbolized in the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>)\u00a0led by Mrs.\u00a0Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, that is striving for freedom, separation of church and state, and living in peace and harmony with rest of the region and the world.<\/p>\n

The French Committee emphasizes that the European Union should adopt measures similar to that of the U.S. by blacklisting IRGC and MOIS as\u00a0terrorist organizations\u00a0for being the source of numerous foiled terrorist plots on the European soil in 2018 alone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
