Demonstration held across Iranian regime\u2019s Parliament to support workers calls for the freedom of their colleagues<\/em><\/p>\n

For the second consecutive night, Iranian regime’s suppressive forces conducted midnight raids on Monday in Ahvaz targeting the homes of Iranian National Steel Industries Group (INSIG) workers and arresting more workers<\/a>. Dozens of workers that were arrested Sunday night and Monday<\/a> are still in detention. Many workers are spending nights outside their homes to avoid arrest.<\/p>\n

According to reports<\/a>, at least 31 workers have been arrested and transferred to Central Prison of Ahvaz.<\/p>\n

Despite the repressive measures of the regime, the Steel Workers have entered their 39th day of strike and protests<\/a> and announced that they will continue to protest<\/a> until the last steel worker is freed from detention.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, according to a\u00a0Statement<\/a> by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), hundreds of pensioners who have been protesting outside the regime\u2019s parliament in Tehran voiced their support for the striking Ahvaz Steel Workers on Tuesday. The protesters chanted the following slogans loudly : \u201cFrom Ahvaz to Tehran, workers are in jails\u201d; \u201cFree the steel workers\u201d; \u201cImprisoned workers must be freed\u201d; \u201cImprisoned teachers must be freed\u201d; \u201cGovernment engages in crimes, parliament supports it\u201d; \u201cFree insurance is our right\u201d; \u201cThe enemy is here, they lie to us when they say it\u2019s America\u201d.<\/p>\n

Brutal and mass arrests of the workers by the Iranian regime speaks loudly of the corrupt and criminal clerical regime\u2019s frustration with the growing tide of striking and protesting workers who demand their basic rights.<\/p>\n

The Iranian Resistance (NCRI) has called on all Iranian people, especially workers, youth, and students, to rise in support of the striking workers and demand their release. The Resistance also called on all international organizations supporting human and workers\u2019 rights, and on all labor unions and syndicates in various countries, to take action for the immediate freedom of the arrested workers in Iran.<\/p>\n
