This comes just four days after US President Donald Trump sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irandemocratic.org\/public_html\/news\/11180\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strong all-caps warning<\/a> to Iran regime&#8217;s President Hassan Rouhani who earlier issued a thinly-veiled threat against the U.S. in a meeting with the regime\u2019s diplomats saying \u201cwar with Iran is the mother of all wars,\u201d while warning Trump \u201cnot to play with the lion\u2019s tail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Members of the administration\u2019s Bolton-chaired Principals Committee focusing on national security issues, including Defense Secretary James Mattis, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other senior officials, are said to have participated.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Word is that this would be only the third time Bolton has convened such a group meeting after assuming his post\u2019s responsibilities in April.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Uncertain is if the Pentagon will place on the table any military options against Iran, as in the past the Defense Department has provided limited options, including preventing the Iranian regime from transferring arms and military equipment to the Houthis in Yemen.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Trump has favored steps to counter the Iranian regime\u2019s \u201cdestabilizing activity and support for terrorist proxies\u201d across the region.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Following Trump\u2019s pullout of the highly flawed 2015 Iran nuclear deal, Secretary Pompeo blueprinted 12 conditions the Iranian regime has to meet before any possible talks are taken into consideration.
