There has been a lot of discussion ahead of this Saturday\u2019s Free Iran Rally in Paris<\/a> about the role of Iranian Resistance coalition, the National Council of the Resistance of Iran (NCRI), especially its leader\u00a0Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, and its largest group the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK) in shaping the future of Iran.<\/p>\n

The Washington Times published a report<\/a>, titled \u201cIran: the Alternative\u201d and argued that the\u00a0NCRI<\/a> is the only viable and democratic alternative<\/a> to the mullahs\u2019 rule. Let\u2019s look at some of their key points.<\/p>\n

Shaking the Regime\u2019s authority<\/strong><\/p>\n

The report began by tracking the anti-regime uprising in Iran that began in late December, quickly spreading across the whole country, and continues in Iran to this day. These protests, in 142 cities, united the Iranian population in their anger at the Regime\u2019s tyranny and incompetence. They are only strengthened by the strikes in many of Iran\u2019s core industries, including logistics, metalworks, and manufacturing.<\/p>\n

The people of Iran, infuriated by arbitrary violence, executions, a failing economy, took to the streets. They came from every walk of life, including the working classes and the rural communities that the Regime had long relied on for support. The Iranian people put down their work equipment and picked up protest signs.<\/p>\n

This was an important moment. It showed the world that regime change is the true desire of the Iranian people and that the mullahs\u2019 grip on power is fading fast.<\/p>\n

A new leader<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Washington Times piece then discussed\u00a0 ten-point platform of Maryam Rajavi for a Free Iran after the fall of the mullahs, which includes abolishment of the death penalty, restoring democracy to Iran, and establishment of an independent judiciary system.<\/p>\n

Maryam Rajavi\u2019s vision for Iran is one founded on equality and tolerance, free from the religious oppression of the mullahs, with laws that promote gender equality, human rights, and equal employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

Free Iran Rally<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over 100,000 opponents of Iranian regime, including prominent figures from Europe, North America, Middle East and Australia are expected to attend this year’s Free Iran Gathering (#FreeIran2018), which will be held on June 30 in Paris.<\/p>\n

This rally will have speeches from many NCRI members, including keynote speaker Maryam Rajavi, and NCRI supporters. It\u2019s an opportunity for the Resistance to show the world what a free and democratic Iran would look like once the Regime is gone.<\/p>\n

This view may not be that far in the future, as the Iranian Resistance grows stronger and the mullahs grow weaker by the day. Soon, the Iranian people will live freely.<\/p>\n
