Beginning on May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, the drivers have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/truck-drivers-strike-across-iran-expanding-to-more-cities-in-their-9th-day-of-protest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spread<\/a>\u00a0their initiative to over 280 cities despite a variety of plots launched by the Iranian regime to cause rifts among their ranks.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/imageen.mojahedin.org\/Attachments\/?id=237f2921-311b-4247-bfb5-86242a7798f0&amp;width=690\" alt=\"Tens of thousands of truckers on strike across Iran\" width=\"309\" height=\"175\" \/>These measures include repressive actions aimed at breaking the drivers\u2019 will.<\/p>\n<p>In the city of Dorud, western Iran, authorities arrested numerous drivers unwilling to have their vehicles loaded with goods.<\/p>\n<p>In Amir Abad, northern Iran, repressive forces arrested several drivers after attacking their protest rally site.<\/p>\n<p>In Zarrin Shahr, central Iran, anti-riot units took measures to disperse the drivers and truck owners protesting in the city\u2019s fruit terminal. The protesting drivers attacked the regime\u2019s units and forced them to flee the scene.<\/p>\n<p>In Khorramdareh, northwest Iran, state police units intended to strip the license plates of trucks belonging to protesting truckers. The drivers resisted and forced the police to retreat.<\/p>\n<p>The protest drivers are demanding an increase in their delivery rates, retirement pensions after 25 years of work, their field of work classified as harsh and demanding for the drivers, decrease in insurance fees, decrease in supplementary fees including road tolls and commissions demanded by each official at numerous terminals (all without any specific framework), decrease in the price of spare parts, the resignation of the truck drivers\/owners union chief, and authorities to end their repressive measures against the drivers.<\/p>\n<p>As the movement\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iran-truck-drivers-nationwide-gain-further-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spreads<\/a>, taxi drivers in Kermanshah and Bukan joined the protests by launching a strike on Thursday. On\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iran-nationwide-truck-drivers-strike-continues-on-9th-day-despite-repressive-measures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wednesday<\/a>, taxi drivers in Sanandaj also went on strike and joined the ranks of their trucker colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>In recent days Snap taxi drivers \u2013 an agency affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards \u2013 also went on strike in the cities of Tehran, Tabriz, Yazd, Shirvan, Isfahan, and Shiraz.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Tens of thousands of truck drivers across Iran continued their nationwide strike on Saturday, marking its 12th\u00a0consecutive day.
